Sustainable tourism in Dominican-Republic

Manati Park is a fun theme park, unique in the Dominican Republic, offering horse, parrot, dolphin and sea lion shows. Located in Punta Cana, Manati Park offers you the possibility of a unique experience: swimming with dolphins! You can make this dream come true in the crystal clear water of the Manati Park swimming pool under the close supervision of the staff. Manati Park have also developed a new concept of fun with animals. Visit the iguanas, flamingos, tropical birds, snakes, crabs, sea lions, dolphins .... you can caress them and discover their world.
A surprising spectacle is waiting for you each winter at Samana Bay: the humpback whales are coming from the seas of Iceland, Greenland, Canada, and North America, to take care their children in the lagoon hot water. From January to March, they are a thousand to remain at Samana Bay. The spectacle is impressive, when the males spring out of water with their 40 tons to fall down a few meters further. If no female reacts, the male then tries to attract one by long monotonous songs that the whales can hear in a radius of 30 kilometers and that only the plungers will be able to hear. After the birth of their children, the whales prepare their return back to the north. "Banco de Plata", became, since 1986, a sanctuary dedicated to the protection of the whales.
An all-day tour through sugar fields and small towns on the way to this forest preserve. Visit by boat strange rock formations, caves and mangroves. Chance to see Taino drawings and rock carvings from pre-Columbus day natives. National Park Los Haitises is Located at the western end of the bay on the south shore across from Sanchez, this park features mangrove swamps with giant mangrove trees forming a lush, green canopy above the watery trails that wind through the swamps. Taino caves where the islands first inhabitants lived are another popular attraction of the park. Tours-Guided tours are the only way to explore the many small islands and caves of the park. Tours are offered from Samana, Sanchez, Sabana de la Mar at the park's eastern edge across the bay from Samana and also originate from Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete.
