Between the North Sea and the Eiffel Tower, between Picardy and the Low Countries lie the first undulating mountain slopes.
A land of tradition, legends and castles, the Province of Namur offers you the richest range of activities that you could ever dream of:
underground visits to caves and caverns, exciting trips down rivers in kayaks, guided discovery tours of these Meuse towns,
their museums and historical fortifications, not forgetting the many nature trails.
The Namur Province has some great assets to indulge horse lovers. Our plains and valleys arte home to woodlands and forests that lead to open fields. Many of our villages – some of them the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia – have superb relays and many equestrian clubs.
Relays and equestrian cottages are equipped to accommodate riders and their mounts for the night or just for a meal.
You can go on a donkey ride or travel the roads of the Namur Province in a carriage. You can have fun at the horse-riding events organised buy the riding school of Gesves, visit the Bison Ranch of Orchimont where the "Amis du Cheval" (horse friends) guide rides even for beginners, or learn more about the draught horse of the Ardennes and about horse dairy.
